Transport® Mikron™ Insecticide Now Approved for Food Handling Establishments
Supplemental label allows use of the product in food-handling areas in all but three states.
PHILADELPHIA, May 2012 – Transport® Mikron™ insecticide recently received supplemental labeling from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use as a spot or crack-and-crevice treatment in both food/feed areas and non-food areas of food/feed handling establishments in all states except New York, Hawaii and California, where registrations are pending, announced FMC Corporation.
Food/feed handling establishments are defined as places other than private residences in which exposed food or feed is held, processed, prepared or served. Other areas included in the supplemental label are:
· Receiving
· Storing
· Packaging (canning, bottling, wrapping, boxing)
· Preparing
· Edible waste storage
· Enclosed processing systems
· Serving areas
“The supplemental labeling opens up many new opportunities for the use of Transport Mikron,” said Catherine Bernard, pest product manager for FMC Professional Solutions. “You can now provide the same excellent pest control to your food-handling establishment customers as you provide to your other accounts with Transport Mikron.”
Introduced to the pest management professional industry in 2011, Transport Mikron is a clear, highly advanced, non-repellent liquid insecticide formulation.
Transport Mikron is proven to be highly effective against pests common to food-handling establishments, including cockroaches, ants (excluding pharaoh and Argentine ants) and flies.
Spot or crack and crevice applications of Transport Mikron may be made while the facility is in operation; however, cover or remove food from area being treated.
